Well, not really. You, like almost every human being on the planet has heard the words “Houston, we have a problem.” Just in case you’re unfamiliar with the term, it has become the cliché phrase for astronauts in distress. Although we use it in our day to day life to joke around about menial problems, astronauts and NASA are always hard at work, and when those words are said back to Houston, things need to get fixed. FAST. If you’re the curious type and have some time in Houston, you may want to check out the NASA headquarters there.
Tours are organized daily through the Johnson Space Center and include a variety of different options. While on the tour you will have the opportunity to see Mission Control, the place where they control the astronauts from the ground, as well as the old Saturn V rocket. They’ve tried to make the museum as well rounded as possible, to appeal to both tourists and non-space enthusiasts alike. Don’t expect to find the world’s biggest archive of space knowledge, but also don’t expect to be disappointed. NASA puts on a hell of a show with their IMAX movies and presentations throughout the day. If you’re in Houston, Texas, there is no excuse not to check out the place where man’s greatest achievements are controlled.
