To be quite honest, the first time I took a trip down to Houston Texas to visit my sister, I had a pretty awful time. It was so incredibly hot (I’m from the Pacific Northwest where we don’t ever get anywhere near that hot) and I had to rely on public transportation to get around when my sister was at work. I swear it was like a pressure cooker in there! However, the next time I went down to Houston I rented a car and by God it made the trip about a million times more enjoyable.

Once you get down there and experience the blazing heat in the dead of summer you will be willing to trade your life savings for a few minutes in front of an AC unit, I know I sure did. That’s why it was so awesome sitting in the middle of traffic in my rented 2009 Camry blasting the AC and watching all the poor folks just dying in the heat outside.

Aside from the AC, if you are going to see all the cool things that Houston has to offer, you’re never even going to start scratching the surface if you don’t have your own source of transportation so getting a car rental in Houston is pretty much essential if you are planning a trip. I would highly recommend Advantage Car Rental if you are going to get some wheels, it was recommended by my sister and after getting some top quality service I would have to agree with her. It’s super easy to get to as well, it’s the one right near Levy Park, right off of highway 59 and Kirby Drive. If you go with them you will be very pleased with the cheap prices and excellent service!
