Although I am originally from the city of Houston, for the past four years, I have been living in a city that is over ten hours away from Houston. The reason that I have been living in this city for so long is because I have been going to college. However, I will be graduating in May, and after I graduate, I will be moving back to Houston. The reason I’m moving back is not only is Houston my home, but the job market there is much larger than it is in my current city, so it’s definitely the right place for me to go.
Now that this event is only a couple of months away, I actually have mixed feelings about going back to Houston. On the one hand, I am very excited about returning to my home city and getting to start a new life as a young professional. However, on the other hand, I now that I will miss my current city (given the fact that I have spent the last four years living here).
I know it’s going to require some changes when I return to Houston, but I have a good feeling that it’s going to be a very positive experience.

Although this weekend is probably going to be relatively boring, I am completely okay with that. The reason that I’m fine with this being a slow weekend is because I already know that next weekend is going to be a whole lot of fun. On Friday afternoon of next weekend, I will be picking up a rental car from a company that’s located down the street from my office, and after a solid amount of driving, I will be arriving in Houston.
Once I arrive in Houston, I can already tell you that the fun will begin right away, and that same level of fun and excitement will last throughout the entire weekend. I have been to Houston on several different occasions, and each trip has been more fun than I can explain. You may be wondering why I always have so much fun when I go to Houston, and the answer to that question is because one of my wildest friends lives in Houston. My buddy knows how to have a really good time, and anytime that I come into town, he goes out of his way to make sure that the fun never stops until I get back in my rental car to head home.

I spent the first eighteen years of my life in Houston. Because of this, regardless of where I live, Houston will always be the place that I call home. Even though my parents have actually moved away from Houston (they are currently living in the same state I am living in, which is Colorado), I still think of Houston as home. The reason for this is that it is where every single important event of my childhood and teenage years took place, and all of the things that happened during those times played a big role in shaping me into the person I am today. I feel lucky to have an endless supply of great memories from those times of my life.
Although my parents no longer live in Houston, I still have a whole lot of old friends who live in the Houston area. Because I have stayed really close to so many of the people who I grew up with, I always try my best to go back there and see them every now and then. I have all of those people in my email address book, but you really can’t substitute emails for some quality face to face time with the people who you care about.

If you are wondering whether or not Houston is a nice place to visit, I would definitely have to cast my vote in favor of Houston being an enjoyable place to take a trip or vacation. I actually have a unique perspective on this topic, because not only have I been to Houston by myself on a business trip, but I have also taken a vacation there with my wife and kids.
Although these two trips to Houston were obviously completely different, I actually enjoyed myself during both of them. While I didn’t get to have as much fun during my business trip as I did my family vacation, I wasn’t working one hundred percent of the time while I was in Houston, so I had opportunities to enjoy some small things like eating out at several nice restaurants.
So, regardless of whether you are planning on going to Houston by yourself or with your family, I feel confident when I say that you will have an enjoyable time. I hope that if you were on the fence about your decision, this post swayed you towards booking your trip.
