Getting a Car Rental in Houston During My Visit

Several months ago, I took a trip down to Houston. I had attended the University of Houston during the five years that I was earning a Bachelor’s degree, and although I have now moved to the state of Kansas, I still have a lot of friends down in Houston (who are either still in school or working with a company that’s located in Houston).

Although I was only able to arrange for a four day trip (due to my obligations at work), I still had a really fun trip down to Houston. Because I was visiting so many different friends in a variety of areas throughout Houston, I decided that the best thing I could do would be to get a rental car. I realized that by having a car rental in Houston, I wouldn’t have to worry about whether or not I would be able to make it around to see all of my friends.

It was really nice getting to see all of my friends, and I also enjoyed visiting all of the places that I had grown so accustomed to spending time at. Even though I won’t be living there for the foreseeable future, I do plan on taking regular trips back to Houston.

Visiting Some Old Friends Down in Houston

Earlier this year, I got an email from two of my old friends. I grew up with both of these people, and when we were kids, the three of us were literally inseparable. Although I parted ways with these two after high school (on good terms, but I was simply pursuing a different path than they were), they went off to the same place together. The reason for this is they had been dating for the last year and a half, and they wanted to keep their relationship alive.

To make a long story short, they eventually got married, and they now have a little baby boy. The reason they emailed me is that they wanted me to come visit them in Houston. I realized it had been way too long since I had seen them, so I agreed to their offer. I made all of my arrangements, and took a flight down to Houston.

I ended up staying at their house for four days, and during the entire time, it felt like we were still the same trio from the good ole days.

I’m Taking a Quick Trip Next Month

Although it’s only going to last for three days, in the middle of next month, I am going to be taking a trip. The place where I am going is Houston, and the reason that I am going there is because it is part of the responsibilities for my job. It’s actually been awhile since I have been to Houston, but I have been there several times before for various work trips.

Because I live in Dallas, I always drive when I take a trip to Houston (because flying is honestly less convenient for a trip of that distant). However, I never take my own car. Instead, my company pays for me to drive a car rental to Houston. I like this a lot more, because it allows me to drive down there (which, as I previously said, is more convenient than flying), but I don’t have to worry about putting a lot of miles on my car (or dealing with the extra maintenance that is required when you drive long distances).

So, I guess the point of this post is that even though my trip is a work trip, I am actually excited about getting to head down to Houston for a couple of days!

Family Time is Time Well Spent

I know a lot of people who don’t like spending time with their families. Whether it’s because they think their family is too boring to be around for long amounts of time, or they simply don’t get along well with the people who make up their family, once the holidays arrive and everyone goes off to be with their family, I get a countless number of emails and text messages from my friends who are complaining about how unbearable it is to be stuck with their families.

Because I have seen just how much people can dislike their families, it makes me feel really good to know that I have such a good relationship with the members of my family. Although there are times when we argue, for over ninety percent of the time that we are together with each other, the time we are spending is a great experience. Not only do we all love each other, but we genuinely like each other, which makes it a lot easier to spend extended amounts of time with each other. So, while not everyone feels this way, I for one am glad that I get to spend the holiday season with all of my family members.
